3.0 - "CONTROL 100 PC" electronic control unit
CONTROL 100 PC is a control unit organized on two levels. The first level is the numerical control (PLC) which formulates the operations for the control of the machine. The second level is a personal computer which co-ordinates all communications with the PLC and serves as an interface not only between operator and machine but also between any external units for data elaboration.
"NEXT", a supervisor developed by SCM for the complete control of machines and programmable systems with continuous electronic axes, is installed on the personal computer. This system enables working data to be kept resident in memory and to be called up when required by typing in the corresponding name on the keyboard.
Head units equipped with continuous electronic axes are positioned according to work program. Keyboard can be used to delete or alter work programs in an extremely easy way as well as to correct tool positioning.
A network card (standard) enables connection to external peripherals (data processing or other personal computers) for exchange of working data (software for exchange of information is not however included in standard equipment of control).
The machine is standardly equipped with teleassistance (Telesolve) which, through the modem of the personal computer, enables connection to "trouble shooting" analogic phone line connected to the SCM technical assistance service.
